Position: Lead

Russ lives in Nappanee, IN with his wife, Sue.  He has two married boys and six grandchildren.

Russ has been retired but recently returned to work in a management position for a local building contractor.

Russ has been flying for 52 years and has a Commercial/Instrument rating; he has accumulated 6000 hours during that time.  He began flying formation in 1997 and has been flying as a Hooligan since the flight team originated in 2000.

Russ is a life member of the Beechcraft Heritage Museum, a life member of the American Beechcraft Society, a member of the Society Automotive Engineers, a member of AOPA, EAA, and the EAA Warbirds Association. He and Sue also enjoy classic cars and traveling in their motorhome when time permits.

CREPAS Position: 2

Rick hails from Kalamazoo, Michigan with his wife, Lauren. He is a residential realtor in Kalamazoo and is the owner of a security systems business. Rick also holds a degree in Engineering and has traveled the world working in that capacity.

Rick has been a licensed pilot since 2001 and has his commercial with instrument rating. He has been flying formation informally since 2003 and formally since 2009. Rick has been flying with the Hooligans for two years.

Rick is a Lt. Col. with the Civil Air Patrol. He is also the Emergency Services Director for the State of Michigan and is an SAR/DR pilot with over 100 actual missions.

Position: 2

Tom lives in Battle Creek, Michigan, with his wife, Barb. They have two grown children, Cameron and Stacy.

Tom has held numerous technical positions for the Kellogg Company for over 27 years and currently manages a business unit in the global research division.

Tom is a commercially rated pilot and has over 25 years of formation experience in numerous models of aircraft. He has flown with the Hooligan Flight Team since its inception and considers the team members as his closest friends.

Tom is a 30-year member of Civil Air Patrol the US Air Force Auxilliary. He is active in Boy Scouts of America, the EAA, Warbirds of America, VFW and DAV organizations and is a local American Red Cross Coordinator. Other interests include collecting and restoring historic military vehicles as a member of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association.

Position: 2

Chuck was born and raised in Battle Creek, MI, and he continues to call that his home.

Chuck is a single father of three grown kids, Christopher, Sara, and Derek , and they are single as well so there are no grandkids yet!

Chuck is an electrical engineer at General Motors, but he is looking forward to retirement and spending a lot more time flying.

Chuck has been flying for 25 years and holds a Single Engine Land and Instrument rating. He began formation flying about 24 years ago with Tom Hibiske, in Cessnas, Pipers or whatever they could get their hands on until they got their T-34. Tom introduced Chuck to the gang of Grey Haired Hooligans who lost their hair and became the Hooligans!

Chuck is a member of the T-34 Association, EAA Warbirds and the AOPA. He also sits on the Battle Creek Airport board and was a 20-year member of the Civil Air Patrol.

Position: 3

John lives in Muskegon, MI, with Kathy, his wife of 40 years. He has two married boys, Mike and Matt, and four grandchildren.

John is the owner of several manufacturing companies in Muskegon.

John has been flying for 25 years and has been flying formation for about 15 years. He holds aviation certificates for single land/sea, multi-engine land, commercial and IFR. John is a charter member of the Hooligans and has been flying with Russ McDonald since the inception of the flight team in 1997.

John is also a pilot for the Wings of Mercy, flying patients who couldn't otherwise afford to get there, to medical destinations.

Position: 4

Russ is a lifelong resident of Napoleon, Ohio. He and his wife, Carol, are the parents of three grown children and the grandparents of three children.

During the last thirty-eight years, Russ has held almost all operational management positions with Interstate Cold Storage. Presently, he is working his way into semi-retirement.

Russ received his private pilot license in 1966. Following a tour in the army, he received his commercial license with instrument and multi-engine ratings. He then became a CFI for airplanes, instruments and multi-engine aircraft. Flight instructing and flying with the Commemorative Air Force fulfilled his need for flying.

Russ began flying formation after the purchase and renovation of a Beechcraft T-34. He has been flying with the Hooligans since 2006 and has had experiences that he never could have imagined.

In addition to time spent with family, Russ is active with various veterans and flying organizations.

Bill is a retired Corporate Pilot. He holds ATP, CFI, CFII, MCFI certificates and recently received the FAA’s Master Pilot award. With 12,000+ flight hours in over 50 years of flying, he has been with the Hooligan Flight Team since 2001.

Bill lives with his wife Peg in Grand Haven, Michigan. They have two married daughters, two granddaughters and one grandson, He is an active member of the United Church of Christ, the American Legion, NBAA, EAA, AOPA, and JLFC. He also enjoys Tennis, Pickleball and Golf.
